When I was young, I went to an overnight each summer with my best friends. The place was called Agawak and located on the border of Wisonsin and Michigan, settled in the beautiful forests of Minocqua and the beautiful waters of Blue Lake. The memories my friends and I have will persist with me forever. Each magical second spent scatted up in a cabin with my foremost friends, roughing it on extraordinary camping trips in the North Woods forests, jumping off the high dive into the cold water, holding hands with the acquaintances I have made during my four weeks of fun every summer from ages 9 to 14, and scarfing down as many burgers as I could during Friday cook-outs, are constantly engraved in my spirit.
One little tradition that we Agawak girls would partake in is a little conventional card game. Every night before lights out, we would honker down on the rustic strained floors of our cabin and sport cards. Although it was supposed to be a fun game free of risk, we made ways to find it entertaining. The games were high, nonetheless, because we would risk something that every girl knows is an accomplished staple for any camper crossways America: stationary. Stationary card game was one of our all-time precious natural actions to partake in. We had primary rounds and depending on the dealer, who would pick the level of grandness regarding which bit of stationary we would stake, would pile our newspaper in the middle and desire for the best! We had certain criteria’s for what kind of manner we could put in. Equating envelope and newspaper round, personalized stationary round, themed round only, and even sweet paper rounds. We did the personalized stationary round mainly to confuse our parents. We discovered it hilarious to send them updates of our everyday life at camp on paper with initials that were not our own. We found this to be the strangest thing in the whole world. The view of our parents opening up a letter and seeing MGS on the top of a card signed from their daughter, JMS, was such a funny trick. We considered ourselves to be the ultimate pranksters considering of this.
These kinds of memories are priceless. They served shape our lives and allow us to become the adult females we are today. Whenever I see a composition of stationary, particularly the personalized kind, it takes me back to my childhood, a time of innocence, no obligations, and just plain old sport.
